Tucked in the back office of the Lake Club you can find Pat attending to payroll, member billing, creating daily cost analysis and chatting with members over billing concerns. Pat began her career at American Greetings and then spent 36 years in a family owned and operated 18-hole public golf facility called Copeland Hills in Columbiana, Ohio. She has been at the Lake Club since 2008 and is thoroughly jazzed about the improvements she sees in the golf facility & club offerings since Mr. Muransky purchased it. Pat grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and graduated from St. Augustine Academy, attending a 12 year all-girls Catholic school. With golf as a binding family thread, her son Jack, known to be her favorite, carries PGA Professional credentials and provided her first two grandchildren, Addison Marie and Peyton Robert. Pat currently lives in Columbiana, Ohio with her daughter Lisa, who carries LPGA Teaching & Club Professional credentials and is the Director of Golf Programs for the Executive Women’s Golf Association. With two grown children, Pat’s passions include being an animal lover and an aviation enthusiast. Pat likes to spend time outdoors working in the yard with Cole, her 80 pound German Shorthaired Pointer, who has also been known to dawn the passenger seat of a Cessna P206. Cole is the man in her life providing the right amount of cuddles and perfect amount of chatter.
Chris is the Golf Course Superintendent at The Lake Club. Chris has been in golf maintenance since he was 16 years old. He began his career at Leffingwell Country Club while in high school, and soon advanced to Tippecanoe Country Club where he worked and attended The Ohio State University. He then obtained an Assistant Superintendent position at Fonderlac Country Club. In 2006 he officially took over as the Golf Course Superintendent. Chris enjoys waking up and going to work every morning to ensure the Golf Course is maintained and considered as one of the finest in the area. Chris has been married for 13 years to Kathy and they have three wonderful children. Chris enjoys skiing, swimming, golfing and playing catch with his family. He is a very proud parent and loves watching his kids play sports.
Golf Course Superintendent
Don Confoey has been a part of the golf staff since The Lake Club’s inception in 2008 and was elected to Class A Membership of the PGA of America in 2012. With over fifteen years of experience as an Assistant Golf Professional, Don enjoys providing a fun environment and quality experience for everyone who comes to The Lake Club. Don is in charge of managing the staff for the golf operation, as well as assisting in various tournament operations and merchandising duties. Delivering quality customer service is his goal and if he is not in the shop you will likely find him on the lesson tee promoting the game of golf through a variety of golf clinics and lessons. He also oversees the Wednesday Night League, Junior Golf Clinics, and runs our popular Major Pool contests. He enjoys spending time with his wife Evie and their son Austin. Don is an avid sports fan and especially enjoys attending Cleveland Browns games and also rooting for the Ohio State Buckeyes. He is a graduate of Western Reserve High School and currently resides in New Middletown, Ohio.
PGA Assistant Golf Professional
Being part of a team is nothing new to Kellee, and she thrives off of collaborating with others. She is a 2007 graduate of Poland Seminary High School where she excelled in both track and basketball. In 2011, she received her BS in Organizational Communications with an emphasis on Public Health from the Scripps College of Communication at Ohio University. After completing her internship with Akron Children’s Hospital in Fundraising and Special Events, she became passionate about working with others to create wonderful events of all types. Her role as part of the banquet sales team at The Lake Club consists of addressing initial inquiries for any banquet events, meeting with clients several times during the planning phase of an event, handling sales of executive day packages for outside organizations, and working with the golf professionals on orchestrating golf outings. Kellee is a native of the Youngstown area and is thrilled to have had the opportunity to be working close to home.
In her free time, Kellee loves to travel, be surrounded by family and friends, meeting new people, cooking, and putting smiles on the faces of the ones around her. She is the very proud mother of her Bichon Frise puppy, Stevie. When he is not too busy being pampered by Kellee’s parents, she makes sure that Stevie is one spoiled little pup.

Event and Sales Coordinator
Debbie has been with The Lake Club since it’s purchase by Ed & Chris Muransky in Sept. 2008. She formerly worked for Fonderlac Country Club for 15 years prior to its purchase. She also worked for the original owner of Fonderlac Country Club, Mr. Don Pipino, in the late 1970’s. Debbie is part of The Lake Club’s sales team which is the initial contact for clients wanting to arrange social events here at the Club. She works closely with outside clients, member clients & staff members to arrange various functions. She especially loves working with brides & grooms to do all she can to make their special day the wedding of their dreams.
She has resided in this area all of her life, except for a five year period when she lived in Las Vegas, NV. She has been married to Randy for 17 years and they have two beautiful cats, Lucy & Desi. Debbie loves to spend time with her family & returns to Las Vegas whenever she can.
Event and Sales Coordinator
Joseph P. LaRocca has been a people person all of his life. He was born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio and began his career as the Chief Operating Officer of The Lake Club in October 2009. Joe oversees the entire facility at The Lake Club and takes great pride with all the membership in knowing them and reviewing all aspects of the membership levels especially for any prospective new members. He wants to ensure that all members and their guests are treated in a relaxing family atmosphere and wants to exceed their expectations while they are here at the Club. Some of Joe’s philosophy is to always treat others as you would have them treat you; always be prepared and expect the unexpected; be a good leader by setting a good example and listen to what everyone has to say, despite what position they may hold, both internally and externally; and be willing and able to adapt to a changing world. Joe has been a member of the Club Managers Association of America since 1984. He also is on the Board of Directors for the Greater Cleveland Chapter of Club Managers Association which encompasses Akron, Canton, Cleveland, Youngstown and Erie, PA.; and has experienced some of the most prestigious private clubs in the United States. He was also named one of the Top Guns in the Club Management Industry in 2003.
Joe currently lives in Youngstown with his wife Kathy of 30 plus years and has two daughters. Nicole, married to Mark Schroedel is a special education teacher and living in Mars, PA with their children Carson and Sienna. His other daughter, Jennifer, married to Joe Paris is a math teacher at Austintown Middle School where she teaches sixth grade and lives with their children Gianna and Nico. Joe is a graduate of Ursuline High School and has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Degree from Youngstown State University. Joe always enjoys spending time with his family and loves to entertain his family and friends whenever he has the occasion to do so along with golfing and watching sports in his spare time.

Dennis Miller joined the team at The Lake Club as Director of Golf in January 2015. Dennis’s duties include overseeing all golf operations for the Club, including daily play, tournaments and events, and overall golf experience. He along with his team of professionals will provide excellent customer service in a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere so that all members and guests have an enjoyable experience. Dennis’s passion as always been golf, and he is thrilled at the opportunity to share his knowledge and experience with The Lake Club team, members, and guests.
Dennis grew up in Niles, Ohio and attended Youngstown State University where he was the captain of the men’s golf team both junior and senior years. Following graduation, Dennis began his professional career at Trumbull Country Club as Assistant Golf Professional in 1993. Then in 1998, he joined the Mill Creek MetroParks team as the head golf professional at Mill Creek Golf Course. He became the golf director in 2001, then in 2012 became the executive director of Mill Creek MetroParks. Dennis lives in Canfield with his wife, Denise and son, Nathan.
Dennis’s resume is distinctive and impressive. His professional highlights include many tournament victories and awards, but by far the most memorable was qualifying for the US Open in 2012. Dennis sank a breaking putt for a birdie on the fourth playoff hole in the sectional qualifier. While the ball briefly rested on the edge of the cup, Dennis turned away in disgust before gravity suddenly pulled it to the bottom of the cup for a dramatic finish. Dennis was named the Northern Ohio PGA player of the year in 2012.
Dennis has instructed many golf students, including Jason Kokrak, a member of the PGA Tour. He has been teaching since he started in the industry, and takes great pride in developing the skills of golfers of every age and experience level. Most of all, he enjoys sharing his love of the sport with golfers of all ages.
PGA Director of Golf
From the meticulously maintained golf course to the rustic beauty of our clubhouse, there are so many things to love about working at The Lake Club, but the best thing by far are the members. For such a large and diverse group it really feels more like a family than a club. Such a great group makes it easy to go that “extra mile.”
In my spare time I enjoy playing golf, cooking and rooting for my beloved Pittsburgh Penguins. If you ever see me on property feel free to stop and ask for anything from a food or beverage standpoint and we’ll do our very best to make that happen for you.
George is one of the most recent additions to The Lake Club, joining the staff in June, 2013. As the Grille Room Manager, he is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the main dining room, halfway house, and patio. He is also responsible for hiring culinary, hospitality and bar staff as well as monitoring their training and retention.
George has over 13 years of experience in restaurant and hospitality management. Prior to joining The Lake Club, he was a training general manager for a nationwide restaurant group and managed multiple locations. He and his team were responsible for training over 100 new managers that ended up at restaurants across the country.
The native of East Palestine graduated Summa cum Laude from Youngstown State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. George and his wife, Danielle, recently relocated back to the area after living in Columbus for 10 plus years. They are proud parents of two rescue dogs and one cat. In his spare time George enjoys golfing and traveling. During football season you can find him cheering on both the Pittsburgh Steelers and Ohio State Buckeyes.
Grille Room Manager
Anne-Marie Turner is Marketing Manager for Chestnut Land Company and The Lake Club. At The Lake Club, she is responsible for advertising, event development, member communication and entertainment.
She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Prior to joining The Muransky Companies in 2011, a love of history and the arts led her to teach middle school social studies and English.
Anne-Marie’s personal passions are her faith, family, decorating and treasure hunting at flea markets. Professionally, her passion is creativity and design, along with organization.
Meet JoAnn Yova, Event Designer & Wedding Coordinator at The Lake Club. She is responsible for the execution of all events that take place on property. After graduating from Mississippi State with dual degrees in Design/Fashion Merchandising and Business, JoAnn worked as the Director of Tour, Travel and Convention for the Mississippi Gulf Coast. She held this position for 18 years and during that time was successful in opening 11 casinos some of which include Isle of Capri Casino, Imperial Palace, Boomtown, Grand Casino Biloxi, and Grand Casino Gulfport. Just prior to moving back to the area, JoAnn worked on the preliminary plans for The Hard Rock Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi.
Ultimately, JoAnn credits her parents who instilled her work ethic and values that made her the person she is today. Loyalty, detail, and dedication have been three integral principles in her life. She continues to live by her parent’s philosophy: “respect those who guide you and always be loyal to those who inspire you.”
In her free time, JoAnn likes to shop for shoes, travel and spend time with her main man “Marcello”, her 60lb English Bulldog.
Event Designer & Wedding Coordinator
Erin Hirschbeck grew up in Poland, OH and graduated from Youngstown State University in 2012 with a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management. During college she worked at Sam’s Club while completing her internship at The Lake Club. Following graduation, she decided a change of scenery and climate might be nice so she packed her things and moved to Tampa, Florida. She grew up visiting Sarasota with her family and always wanted to live close to the beach. After spending about a year in Florida and enjoying the beautiful weather, she decided there was no place like home and returned to Youngstown to be closer to friends and family.
In her free time, Erin enjoys making people laugh, being outdoors, working out, and cooking. Her favorite thing to do is relax at home with her wonderful family and 3 German Shorthaired Pointers. She has a true passion for life and loves to smile.
Kalange Vassell, after a short time away, rejoined The Lake Club team in 2014 as Event Manager. He is responsible for working with the banquet and kitchen staff to ensure that service exceeds clients’ expectations.
Kalange was born and raised in Jamaica. He is a graduate of Western Hospitality Institute in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Following graduation, he worked at Sunset Beach Resort and Spa in Montego Bay. He then furthered his career by relocating to the Florida Keys where he worked at Hawk’s Cay Resort. While working there, he met his wife Cori. The two of them later relocated to Wellsville, Ohio to be close to Cori’s family.
In his free time, Kalange enjoys the outdoors while hunting and fishing. He often hikes with his wife and their two dogs, Gibbs and Abbie. He is happiest when he and Cori get to spend time with his two daughters, Kalecia and Natalia.
Michelle Matthews was no stranger to The Lake Club when she returned for the 2015 season; she worked here shortly after the renovation in 2010 as a server in the Grille Room. During that time, she obtained her master’s degree in Hospitality Management from Florida International University in North Miami, Florida where she volunteered at the South Beach Food and Wine Festival. She also played a key role in re-opening one of Miami’s landmark restaurants as well as an upscale restaurant on South Beach. Missing the Fall weather and planning her wedding, Michelle moved back home to Ohio in 2013 where she assisted in opening a new steakhouse in Boardman.
Growing up in Hanoverton, Michelle worked at a local historical fine-dining restaurant while pursuing her undergraduate degree in Business Administration and Management from Kent State University.
In her spare time, Michelle likes to spend time with her husband John and their son Wilson, along with their four cats and two dogs, all of which are rescues.
Assistant Grille Room Manager
Bekah is the Director of Human Resources for the Muransky Companies. She started in Human Resources 12 years ago as a management trainer for a quick service pizza franchise company; there she worked her way up from a delivery driver to a strategic HR partner. She attributes her success to her passion for people capability and running great operations. Bekah enjoys interacting with people and assisting the company with benefits, payroll, employee relations, training and development, and strategic management. Bekah earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Youngstown State University and a Master’s of Science Degree in Human Resources Management from Capella University.
She and her husband, Larry, live in Austintown, OH with their six children, ranging in ages from 7 years old to 20 years old. Most of their weekends are filled with baseball, competitive cheerleading, or soccer! Bekah also enjoys photography, reading, or a night out with friends.

Lona is the Director of Horticulture at The Lake Club. Lona grew up in Ravenna, Ohio with her loving parents and sister. She earned her degree in Horticulture from Kent State University. While completing her degree she worked as a floral designer at a local florist. Lona started her career as the Head Horticulturalist at Signature of Solon Country Club in Solon, Ohio and soon advanced to become the Head Horticulturist at Westfield Country Club in Westfield Center, Ohio.
Lona currently lives in Canfield with her husband, Brad, and son, Braden. They recently adopted a new member of the family, a Beagle Doxin Lab mix named Hunter. In her spare time she loves spending time with her family. Her passions include being outdoors, shopping, gardening and decorating.
Director of Horticulture
Samantha Villella joined the Lake Club team in January 2016 as the Director of Member Engagement. Prior to joining The Lake Club, Samantha was the Community Engagement Director for Mill Creek MetroParks. After receiving her master’s degree in 2005 from Kent State University, Samantha was the Business Manager for EDM Management, Inc. before becoming the Director of Advancement at her alma mater, Cardinal Mooney High School.
She earned her Bachelor of Science with a concentration in public relations and a minor in marketing in 2002 from Kent State University. Samantha earned her Master of Arts in exercise, leisure, and sports with a concentration in sports and recreation management.
Throughout the past several years, Samantha’s resume has grown to include the titles of “MS Activist” and “District Activist Leader.” In 2008, Samantha’s mother, Kathy (KV), was diagnosed with MS (multiple sclerosis); in 2014, her sister, Nikki, was diagnosed with MS, as well. To raise awareness and additional funds, Samantha and her siblings created a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization in 2012 to support the National MS Society Ohio Buckeye Chapter and The Oak Clinic for Multiple Sclerosis. Her passion is her commitment to her mom, sister, and all of those who have MS that she will be their voice and an MS Activist advocating and working with elected officials so that one day MS will be a thing of the past.
Director of Member Engagement
Doug Webb was born and raised in Warren, Ohio. As a culinary graduate in 2001 from Pennsylvania Culinary, he has worked in Grand Canyon, Arizona, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Chicago, Illinois and in restaurants around the valley in Ohio. Doug has a strong background in hotels and country club environments bringing 20 plus years of experience to the Lake Club team. Doug is a proud father of two boys, and In his time away from the club he enjoys fly fishing and spending time with his family. What Doug enjoys most about the lake club is the gratification of making memories for people through the experience that the team at the lake club provides for its guests.
Amanda Orr joined the Lake Club team in February 2016 as the Assistant Golf Professional. Prior to joining The Lake Club, Amanda was the Assistant Coach for the women’s golf team at Ohio University.
Amanda attended Clarion University of Pennsylvania and earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. She was a four-year starter on the women’s golf team and the team captain for three seasons. The following year Amanda earned her Master of Science in Sport and Recreation Pedagogy from Ohio University. While there, she was the Assistant Coach for the women’s golf team.
Amanda has been golfing for over twelve years and truly has a passion for growing the game. She enjoys coaching golf at all levels and is working toward her PGA Certification. When she is not on the golf course, Amanda enjoys spending time with family and friends as well as traveling all over the country. She is a graduate of Canfield High School and currently resides in Canfield, Ohio.
Assistant Golf Professional
John was born in Boardman Ohio and graduated from Howland High School in 1984. John received a golf scholarship to Eastern Kentucky University where he lead his team to a OVC Conference Championship. He graduated as a Presidential Scholar Athlete with a BBA in Business, Marketing/Management.
John began his professional career at Avalon Lakes in 1990 moving to Trumbull Country Club as Head Golf Professional in 2000. Recently he caddied on the PGA Tour for local Jason Kokrak in 2014-2016. John is considered one of the best teachers and club fitters and prides himself on his ability to improve his students golf game.
John has received many awards over the years including the Northern Ohio PGA Merchandiser of the Year (1994 & 1996). He coached the Howland High School girls golf team to a State Championship in 1995 and was inducted into the Howland High School Hall of Fame in 2015.
PGA Director of Golf
Christopher Bellino was elected to membership in the PGA of America in 2009 and has 19 years of experience in the golf industry. Chris loves interacting with the membership and prides himself on developing fun and exciting tournaments for the membership.
Christopher is a graduate of The Golf Academy of American and Virginia College with a B.S. in Golf Complex Operations and Management. He enjoys teaching the game of golf at various skill levels and his passion is to instruct junior golfers. To see their smiles as they improve their skills is the best reward a golf professional can have. Chris enjoys spending time with his wife Jessica and their two children Kamryn and Nixon.
PGA Assistant Golf Professional
Zeeshan, who also goes by “Z,” was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and grew up in Harare, Zimbabwe. He grew up playing tennis along with several other sports. His father, who was his coach, is a former professional tennis player and competed in all four grand slams several times. Zeeshan became one of the top ranked junior tennis players and was recruited to Youngstown State University (YSU) to represent the university for four years. He achieved several accolades while competing with the YSU Men’s Tennis Team such as Academic All Horizon League First Team and Horizon League Player of the Week. He earned the most career wins from his graduating class. He also helped lead the team to several 3rd place finishes in conference play. After college, Zeeshan competed on the ITF Professional Future’s circuit where he played against and beat players from many prestigious universities such as The Ohio State, University of Arizona, and Penn State.
Rachael Madden is a Poland transplant that relocated to the area from Trumbull County in 2009. Rachael is a triathlete and mother of 3. Rachael’s background in aquatics spans her entire life; she began swimming at age 2 and was active on swim teams, junior lifeguard programs, and water safety campaigns throughout her youth.
Rachael has been a Life Guard Instructor and Lifeguard Supervisor for the last 8 years. In addition, she teaches water fitness, water arthritis, and swim lessons. In 2011, Rachael continued her safety education by becoming a certified firefighter for Poland Village. Likewise, Rachael became a certified EMT in 2012. She enjoys supporting the community and has organized Relay for Life teams and worked as a sports trustee for the past several years.
She is a YSU graduate and now works as a technology teacher and coordinator for Holy Family School in Poland. Rachael divides her weeks working to teach students skills such as developing technology portfolios, web research, web site design, and basic programming. In the evenings, Rachael teaches lifeguarding classes, works as a building supervisor for the Boardman YMCA, maintains various technological devices for Holy Family, and responds to medical and fire emergencies.
Rachael enjoys raising her three children in the Poland area. Her oldest child Jacob has an Autism Spectrum Disorder, and he has benefited tremendously from the supportive programs in the Poland area. Rachael is motivated to teach all children to swim and feels that water safety is one of the most important lessons a child can learn. She looks forward to developing a professional and effective lifeguarding staff as well as provide programs that will benefit and enrich the lives of The Lake Club members.
Nick was born in Canfield Ohio and graduated from Canfield High School in 2014. Throughout his life, tennis has been his one love, since the age of 5. He has competed at high levels through his tennis career.
Nick began his coaching career at Applewood Swim and Tennis Club in the summer of 2015. In his first year of coaching, he was positioned as president of the all the clubs in the area, gaining experience in leadership and organization. He is considered a very humble, people person, and he is very fun to be around. These qualities all help in aiding new and current tennis players in improving their game.
Lori Mowad joined the Lake Club in 2016 and brought years of experience in gardening education, childhood enrichment and and family activities. She was the Family Garden educator at Mill Creek MetroParks and oversaw inner city gardening education as well as planning activities that promote family enrichment. She is a certified Master Gardener through Mill Creek MetroParks as well as Ohio State Agricultural extension. She introduced bees to Mill Creek MetroParks, Fellows Riverside Gardens and has done likewise at the Lake Club. Currently the Lake Club has 3 working bee hives and honey harvested is used in garden related classroom activities as well as in dishes served here at the Lake Club.
Lori is originally from Erie Pa and lives with her husband Eugene in Poland. She has 3 daughters and her youngest can be seen working on the Horticulture Staff in the summer as well as helping her with the Children’s Class. Her hobbies include healthy cooking, gardening, and bee keeping.
Members Activity Coordinator
Michael is an experienced chef who has been creating exceptional cuisine professionally in the industry for over 20 years at Leo’s Ristorante in Warren, Ohio.
He was born in Richmond, Virginia where his culinary journey began. He graduated with a degree in Culinary Arts from The Culinary Institute of America. He then attended a continuing education program in Torino, Italy where he did a lot of traveling and cooked throughout the country.
Michael is a very dedicated, passionate, and creative chef who has established a reputation of the highest caliber over the last two decades in the valley. He looks forward to leading the culinary team at The Lake Club and bringing a fresh, seasonal, and inspired approach to the menus.
Michael lives in Girard, Ohio with his wife Julie and two children Sophia and Nicholas. In his free time he enjoys attending his kid’s sporting events and supporting Girard Indians Athletics.
